Partial Dentures

Removable Partial Dentures

When you’ve lost one or a few adjacent teeth, a fixed bridge may offer the best option for replacing them. But when you’ve lost several teeth that are not next to each other, then Dr. Campbell may suggest a removable partial denture, instead. Unlike a bridge, a partial denture can address complex patterns of tooth loss by fitting around your remaining teeth to replace the ones you’ve lost. Much like a complete denture, a partial denture consists of a gum-colored base and small, discreet clasps that support your replacement teeth, and the appliance can be removed for cleaning and storage at night. We proudly use Valplast dentures which are significantly more comfortable than traditional dentures.

When to Schedule an Appointment

After carefully examining your smile and oral health, Dr. Campbell can design a partial denture based on your unique pattern of tooth loss. The longer you wait, however, the greater your risks of losing more teeth and requiring more extensive tooth replacement. Although partial dentures are typically removable, Dr. Campbell may suggest utilizing a series of dental implants for optimal support. The implants not only provide unmatched stability for your replacement teeth, but they also help preserve your jawbone density in the areas where your teeth have been uprooted.
