Titanium Dental Implants
Today’s prosthetic dentistry offers a variety of options for replacing lost teeth, but only dental implants offer comprehensive and comfortable stabilization of replacement teeth, like partial and full dentures. A dental implant is a small, biocompatible titanium post that is inserted into the jawbone, and then integrated into the jaw as the bone heals and fuses to the implant. Once your jawbone has healed, Dr. Olson can secure a replacement crown, bridge, or denture to your implant or implants, depending on how many teeth you are replacing. For your convenience, we can now place dental implants in-office, helping you avoid the need to visit multiple offices throughout the course of your treatment.
When to Schedule an Appointment
To determine if you qualify for dental implant placement, Dr. Olson will perform a free, comprehensive examination to ensure that no dental issues are present, such as tooth decay or gum disease. A progressive dental disease can compromise the jawbone and oral tissues supporting your implant after the post has been placed. Also, Dr. Olson will measure the bone’s mass and density to ensure that it is strong enough to receive the implant posts. If you qualify, then Dr. Olson can place your dental implants in our office, and then secure a custom-designed restoration to the implants once your jawbone has healed around the posts.
